Since the comedian has lost his place in the limelight of showbiz, he has since turned into an entrepreneur, selling corn dogs. Bearwin’s Corny Doggy has been successfully serving customers since 2021 and has over 124,000 followers on its official Facebook page. But before he was able to launch his food business, he shared how rocky the road was to his journey.

Bearwin was last seen in ABS-CBN’s sitcom, Home Sweetie Home, with Toni Gonzaga. He shared in an interview with Ogie Diaz via his vlog, that when things started going downhill for ABS-CBN, he was losing jobs and opportunities. And with the pandemic happening, Bearwin found himself among those who were badly affected.

Bearwin even tried his luck in politics but lost in the 2019 elections when he ran for councilor. Left with no job and no chance, he held to the last thing he had, his faith.

“Pero kapag wala ka nang aasahan dito, walang industriya, walang trabaho, hindi ka nanalo, so wala kang ibang kakapitan kung ‘di ang Diyos,” he said. [When I had nothing else, no showbiz industry, no job, lost the elections, I held on to God.]

It came to a point where he was left with no money he had to sell his hard-earned dream house. It was part of him trusting God’s direction for him. They decided to rent a small place to stay. Slowly, Bearwin was starting to see the silver lining in his situation. He was less stressed with bills because their dream house was still on loan.

When their savings was dwindling down, they turned to God again a good business direction. They turned to start a food business. “So, we started food: Corny Doggy. Dito ako dinala ng Diyos,” he said in an article on Pep. [God brought me here.]

Since then, Bearwin’s Corny Doggy has been steadily growing since it launched in 2021. It’s even open for franchising. Looking back, trusting God was the best decision they made. He said, “If we work, we work. But if we pray, God works. So, everything went smooth.”

On the official page of Bearwin’s Corny Doggy, Bearwin continues to share vlogs about trusting God and messages to those who are struggling. The comedian reminded everyone to continue holding on to God’s plans.

Just like Bearwin, the owners of Turks Shawarma also surrendered to God their business and plans. Now, Turks is one of the most popular Shawarma brands in the country.
