In business, you have to always be aware of your competition so that you will know what marketing strategies you have to make to attract more clients. The goal in business is to make a name for yourself so that the customers will go to you, not to your competition.
A little girl in Panabo, Davao seems to have aced this with a marketing strategy that made her go viral.
“Calamansi Girl of Panabo Public Market (Panabo, Davao). Madiskarteng bata. Tumutulong sa ina na magbenta. #DapatTularanNgMgaKabataan,” netizen Jaypee Donasco captioned the videos.

Speaking Visayan language, the little girl called out to the marketgoers to buy her ‘lemon’ (calamansi).
“Uy di-a ra’y lemon (Uy heto na ang calamansi), lemon oh, lemon oh; Tamang tama pangsarsa sa isda, Kulang na lang toyo ug suka. Php20 na lang. Di-a ra, di-a ra. Php20 na lang. Hangyo na lang kay human na ang New Year. (May tawad na yan kasi tapos na ang New Year.) Oh, lemon pag may time, ha? Lemon!” the girl would shout as she sold her calamansi in the market.

There were other calamansi sellers in that market, but a number of people buy from this girl because of her marketing strategy. She would soon go viral, with her videos raking in hundreds of views from impressed netizens.
Donasco shared the videos of the ‘Calamansi Girl’ as he was impressed by the young lady’s marketing strategy.

A lot of netizens were amazed by this girl, saying she will certainly go places because she knows how find strategies in life. Many hoped that the girl would get more customers, especially now that she has gone viral.
Others hoped that she would be featured on civic oriented shows like Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.

But some slammed her parents for letting her work, saying this is child labor! However, many also took her side and said that this girl was most likely only doing this after school hours – and what’s wrong with learning how to support one’s self and family? That would actually make her strive better in life to succeed in the future!
