1. Choose a business you’re passionate about

According to Gladys, it’s best to choose a business that’s close to your heart. But it’s also not enough to choose your passion, you also have to research whether there’s a market for it. There are many ways you can turn a hobby into a lucrative business if you do the right research.

So, it’s very important to surround yourself with people who will support you and believe in your skills. This holds true, as many celebrity entrepreneurs like Neri Naig found success with the support of her husband, Chito Miranda. [So in times when you feel down or needs help to expand your business, it’s very important that you have someone by your side.]

3. Believe in yourself

Gladys highlighted how important it is to believe in yourself and your vision for your business. She said being a mother also helped her develop her business mindset because she learned how to be “madiskarte” or resourceful, in finding ways. “And ito ang pinakamahalaga sa lahat, maniwala sa sariling diskarte,” she added. [And most important, believe in your own hustle.]

She said in another article on Manila Bulletin, “Hindi pwede sa negosyo na konting failure, susuko na agad.” [You shouldn’t easily give up on small failures.]
