A mompreneur shared her inspiring story of how her businesses helped their family build 2 houses and acquire more investments.
Ann Barlas first shared her story on Chinkee Tan’s Facebook page to thank him for his financial guidance and wisdom. Following Chinkee’s books and advice, Ann calls herself a “certified iponaryo” because she learned how to save well. When she was finally able to save enough, Ann started venturing into business in 2016.
Ann started online selling and ventured into real gold jewelry. Because of her hard work and perseverance, Ann was able to buy her family a house and lot, cars, and even a small piggery in their province.
Ann said, “Gusto ko din ishare na proud po ako sa sarili ko dahil sa pagtitinda at pag oonline ay nakapundar po ako nang bahay at lupa at sasakyan. Meron din akong munting piggery sa province, na sa awa nang Diyos dahan-dahan nang lumalago sa ngayon.”
She admitted that while her husband works as a seaman, the majority of the money spent on their houses and investments are products of her online business.
Anne revealed, “Isa po akong asawa ng seaman pero hindi po ako umaasa sa sahod ng aking asawa. Nagsusumikap po ako para may sarili din akong kita. Sa mga napundar namin, proud akong sasabihin halos 85% ay pera at kita ko sa pag oonline business ng real gold jewelry.”
As Ann’s business continues to prosper, the couple was able to build their 2nd house. They are also looking forward to a brighter future for their only child. Ann said, “Dahil sa pag-oonline, dalawang bahay na po ang aming naipundar mag-asawa. Sa ngayon, nagtutulungan kami para mabigyan nang magandang kinabukasan ang nag-iisa naming anak at sa pamilya nabuo namin.”
Chinkee couldn’t help but be proud of how his financial advice became an inspiration for a couple to save and be wise in their investments.
The jewelry business is actually a good investment, especially in the Philippines. Celebrities like Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon have also ventured into the jewelry business. Even Lovely Abella sells gold jewelry during her live selling. Lovely was able to build a 3-story dream house because of her online store.
