Owning a house seems like the ultimate dream of all. Unfortunately, having your own place is not an easy task. Even with the available housing loans in the country, one must have enough money to be eligible to apply. But while it may seem like an impossible dream, a vendor impressed everyone when he showed off his 2-storey house. He built it from his own earnings selling fish balls in the streets.

Michael Gripal Relucio shared on Simple House in the Philippines Facebook page photos of the ongoing construction of his house. Michael is a proud fishball vendor and he is even more proud that he will soon become a homeowner.

He wrote, “Isa po akong fishball vendor. Nagbunga po ang aking pinaghirapan. Konti na lang po matatapos na.”

According to Michael, the 2-storey house is a product of his hardwork and perseverance. The house he is building is already nearing completion. In the photos he shared, we can see that it is made of solid concrete from the lower level to the second floor. They also used a few tiles as sidings on the exterior walls to help improve aesthetics.

It has an aluminum screen door and sliding glass windows. It even has decorative trims on the side of the windows to make it more pleasing to the eye. On the second floor, it has a steel railing to secure a mini terrace from the bedroom. All over the house, they installed wall lights.

While the house is still unfinished, Michael already shared a few photos of the interiors. They have a mini bar complete with lights to separate the kitchen/dining room and the living room. In the living room, they have a huge TV and a stereo. They have tiled floors, including the stairs leading to the second floor.

Truly impressive! Micheal’s story inspired many netizens. It’s a good reminder that sometimes it’s not the kind the job that dictates our success. Most of the time, what truly matter is how we make use of our earnings to achieve our goals. A netizen wrote, “Tunay nga na wala yan sa klase ng trabaho, kundi sa diskarte at sipag! Congrats sa bahay mo!”
