Like native delicacies such as buko pie, cassava cake and espasol, pork chop has also become one of the most popular food that people look forward to when visiting Laguna. Indeed, various restaurants in Laguna have specialized in serving different types of pork chops.
Tuding’s Original Pork Chop, which is one of the most popular pork chop restaurants in Laguna, has gained loyal customers because of its distinct delicious taste and affordability. The popular chain of restaurants, which originated as a small eatery in Binan in 1985, initially served various home-cooked meals.
But when the owner discovered that its pork chop was a hit among customers, she decided to focus on just one speciality: porksilog (pork chop with fried rice and egg).
“Naisip ni Tita magluto ng porkchop. Triny niya, pinartneran niya ng sinangag tsaka itlog tas nung nag-click yung porkchop inalis niya yung iba-ibang luto nila. Nagstay na lang sila sa isang menu yun na lang yung porksilog,” Inie Dagay Magbanua told Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho.
From selling 10 kilos of pork chops a day, Tuding’s Original Pork Chop now serves 600 kilos of pork chops daily. To date, it has 15 branches all over towns in Laguna and various parts of Metro Manila.
The success of Tuding’s Original Pork Chop doesn’t come as a surprise as many of its customers only have wonderful things to say about its main product.
“Tama yung pagkakaluto niya. Malambot talaga siya, malinamnam, masarap.”
“Masarap, malambot, di siya maalat. Tamang tama sa sawsawan niya, suka na may toyo.”
