How to Generate S-Pass for Traveling in the Philippines

Did you know that you need to have an S-Pass to travel to many parts of the Philippines?

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, this is part of the travel requirements so you can pass through checkpoints, ride a boat, board a plane, or even ride a bus and other public transportation.

Generating an S-Pass

Step 1. Head over to the S-Pass website (https://s-pass.ph/).

Step 2. Create an account by registering your phone number. Double check your information. Your cellphone number will be used for logging in.

Step 3. Log in to your account. You can use a cellphone or a computer for this.

Step 4. Click the link for “Are You Traveling?” at the left sidebar.

Step 5. The next page will ask “Are you an APOR (Authorized Person Outside Residence) or an Essential Traveler?” You’ll also be asked whether you’re in the ECQ/MECQ area. Click on the applicable answers.

If you’re from these restricted areas, you won’t be allowed to proceed. Wait until the restrictions are lifted in your area so you can try again.

If your place of travel origin isn’t restricted, you can proceed with the application.

Step 6. Input your current location and your destination.

The site will automatically generate the list of requirements that you have to comply. Make sure to comply with these requirements before you continue.

Depending on the destination LGU, you might need:

  • Government-issued ID
  • Medical certificate
  • Negative antigen test (valid within 48 hours)
  • Negative RT-PCR test (valid within 72 hours)
  • Barangay acceptance certification from destination
  • Vaccine cards
  • Vaccination certification from where you got vaccinated against COVID-19

Some LGUs don’t require any documents and will automatically approve S-Pass applications.

For LGUs that require you to pass these documents, you’ll need to click “Generate Travel Pass-Through Permit (TPP).

Step 7. Input all the required information, including mode/s of transportation, travel date/s, and what type of traveler you are.

Step 8. Upload the necessary screenshots or pictures of the required documents. Make sure the pictures are clear. Check the box before the “I’m not a robot” text and click “SUBMIT.”

Step 9. Wait for your destination LGU to process and approve your travel documents. Make sure that you submit your application at least a day before your travel date to avoid delays.
