At 29-years-old, Ken Chan already has his eyes set on the future. He’s one of the successful entrepreneur-celebrities who are building successful businesses.
According to Ken, he had no work for a year due to the pandemic. But the misfortune brought good luck as he was urged to venture into business.
Ken began investing in a gas station, iFuel. In just a year, he had over 10 branches of gas stations in different provinces.
He said in an interview on Pep, “Meron na sa Antipolo, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Cavite, sa Cebu, may tatlo po kami. Mas sa probinsiya po kami, kasi malakas po ang gas station sa probinsiya.”
Ken’s second business is a Cafè Claus, which is a unique cafe because it has a Christmas theme. In just a year, he was able to expand to 3 branches.
“Ang maganda dito sa Café Claus, every branch, iba’t iba ang Christmas. Yung first branch ko sa Tandang Sora, it’s a French Christmas. This one, itong Greenhills, it’s German Christmas. Itong bahay na ‘to ay hango po ‘yan sa traditional German houses. Yung Eastwood naman po, it’s American Colonial Christmas. 1930s, 1940s Christmas. Doon may stage, may Jazz singer,” he explained.
Lastly, he ventured into the wellness industry with his Aromagicare Luxury Massage Chair.
In another interview on Pika-Pika, he shared that his success is also brought because of he likes to save and spends wisely. “Honestly, ’yun lang ang sagot ko talaga, magtipid,” Ken said.
The actor shared that he doesn’t spend too much on himself. Even on clothes and shoes, he rarely buys them. When it comes to cars, he doesn’t buy on a whim and really uses them for 5 years before considering replacing them.
Ken said, “Sobrang proud ako sa sarili ko dahil…eto, sa totoo lang, hindi ako bumibili ng gamit ko. Hindi ako bumibili ng damit, hindi ako bumibili ng shoes, bags o pabango o kahit ano.”
“Ang sasakyan ko, papatagalin ko hanggang limang taon or kung kaya pa. Hindi ako magastos para sa sarili ko, talagang tinitipid ko,” he explained.
Ken explained that he put to heart the lesson of money his parents taught him. He shared that he explained that for every P10 he earns, he spends only P1 and saves the other P9. That’s how frugal and practical he is when it comes to managing his money. Well, it looks like it works well for Ken because he was able to build big businesses that will help secure his future.
