Lovely Abella proudly shows off her family’s three-storey dream house. She said the house is the fruit of her labor in online selling.
The Kapuso actress revealed that she was among those who were badly hit by the pandemic. As a breadwinner, she couldn’t afford to lose her income because her family relies on her. Thus, she went along with the many Pinoys who ventured into online selling. Because of her comedic and fun personality, Lovely’s live selling was a hit. It became her bread and butter amid the pandemic.
Lovely resells the preloved items of her celebrity friends
The comedienne admitted having a network of celebrity friends really helped her business. But it would still not pay off if she was not hardworking. Lovely began selling the preloved items of her celebrity friends.
She recalled how she first doubted if it was okay to be an online seller despite being a celebrity. But she soon realized their needs weighed more than her pride.
She shared with Pep, “Actually, may times na parang, ‘Tama ba na gawin ko ito, na artista ako, pero I’m doing this?’ Pero nung panahon na yun, hindi yun ang naging focus ko. Ang naging focus ko is kailangan naming mabuhay.”
“Naniniwala po ako na minsan na ang mukha po natin kahit manipis, kumakapal pag kinakailangan. Ako po, makapal na po pero mas mukhang kumapal pa po lalo dahil po dito,” Lovely continued.
Lovely also admitted that if it not for the support of her husband, Benj Manalo, she wouldn’t have made it. The couple was working together because they have the same goal.
Celebrities get into online selling
As the pandemic continued, more celebrities found themselves venturing into live selling. Lovely’s friends in Bubble Gang, Chariz Solomon, Arny Ross, and Betong Sumaya are now proud online sellers.
According to Lovely, being recognized as a comedienne really helped her business boom. “Kumbaga, ginagawa ko ring comedy kung papano magla-live selling, and dahil yan sa character na nabubuo ko sa Bubble Gang, nabibigay na opportunity nila sa akin. And at the same time siyempre napapanood ako lagi sa Bubble Gang. So, yung tiwala nandun po talaga,” she said.
Building her dream house
According to the celebrity, her three-story home is her greatest blessing in the time of the pandemic. Last October, the couple had their house blessed. As they posted photos of their house on their Instagram, Lovely couldn’t help but be proud. She said that their “beautiful blessing” was proof that hardwork pays off.
“Salamat sa napakagandang blessing sa aming mag-asawa, nagpapatunay na kung may tiyaga may nilaga, nagpapatunay na lumaban tayo sa buhay,” she wrote.
