Manny Villar Introduces PH’s First Grocery Store Smart Carts

Business tycoon Manny Villar gave the public a pleasant surprise when he introduced the Philippines’ first-ever smart carts.

Smart carts are grocery store carts equipped with a gadget where you can automatically scan products you want to purchase. Through the smart cart’s scanner, you can have a quick look at the product’s information, including the price. You can also compare prices and get the best deals on the items.

Smart carts can change your grocery shopping experience as it allows you to see your running total of purchases even before you reach the cashier. It’s ideal when you’re working on a budget and a shopping list.

Even better, paying for your groceries can now be a breeze. The smart cart will automatically generate a QR code for your purchases, which you can use at self-checkout counters. You can also hand them to a cashier if you prefer.

On Facebook, Villar shared that the new innovation will be accessible at AllDay’s flagship store in Evia Lifestyle Center in Las Pinas. This will be the country’s first self-checkout kiosks.

“This newest innovation is set to elevate the Filipino grocery shopping experience to a global level of convenience and fun,” Villar wrote on Instagram.

Camille Villar, AllDay’s vice chairman, shares the public’s excitement over the innovation. She emphasized their business’ commitment to continuously improve their products and services.

Villar added that they want to elevate the in-store shopping experience of their customers and hopefully the rest of the communities in the country.

“Our smart carts are a novel experience, and we are sure it will be an exciting experience for first-time users. This puts even more convenience and information about what they are buying in real-time, right at their fingertips. More importantly, introducing these smart carts helps raise the bar for the local supermarket landscape, driving home our point that Filipino consumers now prefer experiential shopping, and we are of course happy to deliver,” she said.
