Just after opening their new cafe, the couple faced an unfortunate incident when they became victims of “Basag Kotse gang” last December 1 in Bacoor, Cavite. According to Ronnie, they dropped by their newly-opened cafe around 8 pm. When they left, they were in total shock when they saw that their car was already broken open by burglars.

Loisa was quoted on Push saying, “Tapos balak namin mag-picture lang ng mga products, mga food, para may ma-post kami sa social media. And umalis na kami kagad siguro mga 9pm. Saktong sakto papasara na ‘yung cafe. Pag baba namin basag na ‘yung sasakyan,” she added.

Ronnie even shared how at one point, he and the burglar met eye-to-eye as they were robbing their car. He was able to recognize the face and informed the police immediately.

“Na-confirm lang nung ni-review na sa CCTV. And hanggang ngayon iniimbestigahan pa rin nila. Hindi pa nahuhuli. Pero sana mahuli kasi ayaw namin na may mabiktima pa siyang iba,” he added.

Unfortunately, among the properties stolen from the car were 3 iPhones where the couple kept their cryptocurrency and bank accounts. The couple already saved around P1 billion in cryptocurrency that’s hard to retrieve, so the couple are so disappointed and frustrated over the incident.

“Bangko kasi namin nandun. ‘Yung mga naka-save namin. Meron pa kaming crypto sa phone na nawala na may malaking halaga din. Kaya medyo nakakalungkot din. Ngayon wala na yung na-save namin. More or less, siguro 1B. Pag crypto mahirap kasi once na nawala, wala na talaga. So hindi na mabablik,” Ronnie admitted.

Loisa further explained how hard it is to get back their cryptocurrency savings compared to their bank savings.

“Hindi na siya nabubuksan kasi nasa cellphone talaga siya eh. Pag nawala na, kasama na yung value. Feeling ko hindi na nila makukuha kasi may password. iI-report na namin sa bangko pero pag crypto kasi baka wala na kasi. Hanggang alas-tres ata kami sa police nung time na yun na madaling araw,” she explained.

In an earlier interview with Pep, the couple admitted that they decided to have a joint saving but only for their business earnings. They plan to use it for their travels and add to their personal savings.

A cryptocurrency is a form of digital currency. If done right, trading Litecoin, cryptocurrency, and other assets can be a good form of investment.
