A single mom lost her print shop in March but eventually opened a chicken business that now earns Php50k per day! Isn’t that amazing?
Finding New Business
When she lost her print shop in March due to COVID-19 restrictions, single mom Minda Nacario didn’t know what to do so she could feed her baby. There even came a point when she couldn’t even afford to buy her baby diapers or food, only feeding her with sugar!
It was the breaking point for Nacario who knew that she had to do something so she and her baby would survive. She can’t reopen the print shop because it is a non-essential service but she started a chicken business with a capital of Php2,500.
She began to sell chickens online. Amid the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) when most people are not allowed to go out, Nacario’s business quickly grew.
She was lucky enough to be invited as part of Quezon City’s stores on wheels program. The program aims to bring food and various goods to communities on lockdown. Soon, Nacario was selling tons of chicken, earning as high as Php50,000 a day!
By June, she has two new cars and three stores of her own. She has also provided livelihood to many of her family members who lost their income sources due to the crisis.
