Siomai Business Earning P1M A Month Transforms The Life Of A Former ‘Riles Boy’

A former ‘riles boy’ was able to change his life for the better, thanks to the success of his siomai business.

Henry Guruta grew up along the train tracks with his father and two siblings. Their mother already left them and their father was also busy with his vices. At the age of 10. Henry became the breadwinner for his siblings. His youngest sister became pregnant while studying. This lead him to work extra hard to support her and her child.

Henry got into odd jobs while studying college. He would sell on the streets, work as a fast food crew, and sell encyclopedias. Finally, he was able to graduate. Henry moved to Nueva Ecija and met his wife, Jean.

Together, they started venturing into business. Using their own homemade recipe, Henry opened their first siomai stall just near their house. The recipe must’ve worked because fast forward to today, they were able to expand their siomai business to over 500 branches all over the country.

“Yung mga hardships ko sa buhay noon, talagang nagamit ko siya ngayon. Na-apply ko sa buhay ko ngayon,” Henry shared on Rated Korina.

Looking back, it wasn’t an easy ride for the couple. Everyday, they would wake up early to prepare their goods. Together, they would sell breakfast meals, champorado, and banana cue. But their bestseller has always been their siomai. So, they focused on their best product.

They improved the taste of their siomai but also made it affordable. Their siomai became a hit among students.

Successful business

According to Henry, life has really changed for good with the success of their siomai business He admitted that he earns more than P1 million a month selling their bestselling siomai. They were even able to build a siomai factory in Porac, Pampanga. They own eight trucks for delivery. And of course, they live in a huge mansion with four cars.
