Success Story of “Lugaw Queen” Who Makes as Much as P50,000 a Day

MANILA, Philippines- Back in 2007, Lugaw Queen Beverly Aquino was supposed to pay for her family’s electricity bill when she decided to use the money for another purpose that would completely change the course of her life.

With a capital of just P1,100, Aquino rented a small kiosk with just three chairs in San Pablo, Laguna to sell bowls of lugaw or rice porridge that cost P10 each. But unlike other eateries that sell lugaw, Aquino had a secret recipe that she and her mother concocted.

On its first day, Lugaw Queen had a sales of P1,300 which almost doubled on the second day. Soon, they were unbelievably  making P10,000 a day. After just three months, Aquino was able to save enough money to rent a bigger place.

Aquino was able to open 12 branches thoughout Luzon within a year of opening her first branch. To date, she still can’t believe that Lugaw Queen sells as much as P50,000 worth of lugaw everyday.

Born into poverty, Aquino has really come a long way thanks to the success of her business.  Her husband Sherwin Aquino even shared his wife’s struggles while studying.

With the success of her business, Aquino will no longer experience such difficulties in life. Just from selling bowls of lugaw, Aquino now owns a two-story rest house in San Pablo and a lot in Nuvali.
