There are a lot of hobbies that you can turn into businesses here in the Philippines. One of these is baking, where you can start selling your baked goods and pastries using less than 10,000 pesos as capital.
One key to succeeding in the baking scene is to find the best store or supplier to get your ingredients from. Because this is food, and the taste cannot be compromised, you have to find the best store that can offer you quality ingredients for the lowest possible prices.
For those who are already in the baking business scene, these three stores in Metro Manila are sure to be on their recommended list:
All About Baking
All about Baking started in 2012, their first outlet is in Kitanlad St. corner Quezon Avenue, near Welcome Rotonda. This one-stop-shop baker’s dream has everything you will ever need for your baking business. From ingredients, bakery tools, baking equipment, packaging needs, party needs, to everything an enthusiast needs. Name it, they have it.
Currently, they have 4 branches but they plan to add more in the coming years.
You can find them in the following branches:
Quezon Avenue Branch
2 Kitanlad St. corner Quezon Avenue, Brgy. Josefa Quezon City.
Congressional Avenue Branch
41 Congressional Avenue, Brgy. Bahay Toro Quezon City.
257 Aguirre Ave. Brgy. BF Homes Paranaque City.
BGC Uptown Mall Branch
Lower Ground Floor, Uptown Mall Bonifacio Global City.
Top Chefs has been dubbed by When In Manila as the ultimate store for baking aficionados. Their first branch in Quezon Avenue was opened last June 2014.
Top Chefs aims to break the misconception that with lower prices come substandard quality. Here in Top Chef, they sell quality products but in Divisoria prices, who wouldn’t love that?
Quezon Avenue Branch
64 Quezon Avenue, 1100 Quezon City, Philippines
If you are okay with going through seas of people, you can brave the crowd and go to Killion Merchandising in Quiapo to buy your ingredients. The ingredients here are way cheaper than the first two stores that are mentioned above. Mainly because of the location, they don’t have an expensive rent, I suppose?
Everything you need for baking is available here, except the expensive imported ones. You’ll find two doors when you go there, the big one is where you will “order” your ingredients. The smaller one is where you will wait for your number to be called so you can claim your items, already packed and ready to bring.
