1. Be resourceful
In an episode of Kapamilya Chat, Madam Inutz said how important it is to be resourceful, or “madiskarte.” This belief holds true for many entrepreneurs, like Gladys Reyes, who also said we should believe in our own “diskarte” in business and life. Madam Inutz recalled how she started her online business with no capital, but it didn’t stop her from doing her best. Thankfully, she was rewarded with a huge following and income.
2. Be entertaining
Madam Inutz said that aside from selling your products, you should also sell entertainment. Be lively and entertaining, so people will be interested in your live stream and check your products. She said, “Kailangan malaro ‘yung utak mo. Kailangan joyful ka, palabiro ka, para at the same time nae-entertain mo ‘yung mga viewers mo. Hindi ka lang nagbebenta, nagbibigay ka rin dapat ng aliw.” [You need to have a playful mind. Be upbeat and humorous to keep your audience entertained. You’re not just selling; you’re also entertaining them.]
3. Keep your items presentable
Madam Inutz also emphasized the importance of promoting quality products. So in her case, she makes sure that her preloved items are well washed and look presentable during live selling. It’s important that people see that you put effort into taking care of your products and goods.
4. Be prepared
In a vlog posted by Madam Inutz via her YouTube channel, she also shared how important it is to be prepared. It can take hours for her and other live sellers with limited space at home to prepare their space for live selling. But it’s still important to take the time to prepare and create a good background. Prepare your items too so your live selling will run smoothly.
5. Offer freebies or promos
Madam Inutz explained that it is unavoidable in an ukay-ukay business to receive “rejects” or low-quality clothing. Instead of throwing them away, she gives them away for free. It’s a great way to keep more “suki.”
To become an effective live seller, you need tips and tricks up your sleeve so you’ll have more people join your live stream and, of course, attract more “miners.” More importantly, just try and try!
