MANILA, Philippines- Kapuso actress Marian Rivera will soon turn her passion for flowers into a lucrative business. The 32-year-old Spanish-Pinay star is set to open her own flower shop, Flora Vida Perennial Blooms by Marian, very soon.
In her Instagram account, the popular TV star often posts images of flowers or photos of her wearing floral-printed dresses. Rivera even takes time to draw or paint flowers during her free time. But unknown to many, Rivera’s love for flowers go beyond clothes and images.
Last Christmas, Rivera’s dream of owning a flower shop started turning into reality after she was gifted by her husband Dingdong Dantes with an SEC-registration of her flower shop business.
In her interview with GMA 7’s 24 Oras, Rivera revealed that she will be hands on and will even personally arrange the flowers.
“Mahilig talaga ako sa bulaklak. Kapag ginagawa ko siya, may ibang fulfillment akong nararamdaman sa sarili ko. Ako ang mag-a-arrange mismo, walang ibang tao kung ‘di ako lahat [ang] gagawa,” Rivera said.
Although Rivera has revealed the logo of her upcoming business in her Instagram account, the actress has not yet revealed when her shop will start operating. Many speculated that it will open on Valentine’s day but Rivera is yet to make an announcement.
Despite their success in the show business, many actors and actresses like Rivera have ventured into business. Celebrities like Marvin Agustin, Willie Revillame, Luis Manzano, Kris Aquino, Angel Locsin, Carmina Villaroel, Jolina Magdangal and Jodi Sta. Maria are also successful entrepreneurs.
For Agustin, a former matinee idol and owner of a successful chain of restaurants in the Philippines, being an entrepreneur gives him a different level of fulfilment.
“I get different levels of fulfillment from them. As an actor and chef, it’s more personal. But as an entrepreneur, it is about creating a better business environment and opportunities for Filipinos.”
