Young Siblings Start Pest Control Business, Now Cater to Big Companies

Young siblings start a pest control business during the pandemic, but they’re now catering to big companies – and that just around 2 months later! Impressive! So, how did they do it?

Young Siblings Open Pest Control Business

Age isn’t a hindrance to success, that’s proven by countless people, including students, who managed to start a business or achieve something momentous at a very young or old age.

Take for example siblings Clark Dennies and Clarissa Joyce Demejes, co-owners of Pesconex.

They are still young but they were able to start a pest control business during the pandemic, specifically in January 2022 that quickly grew so that they’re already catering to big companies by March 2022!

These two inspiring young folks live in Quezon Province.

The idea came from their uncle Giovanni Villela who owns a pest control business in Manila.

So ‘yung business namin nag-start po siya with the help of my uncle po, siya po ‘yung tumulong sa amin, siya po ‘yung nag-hikayat sa amin na pumasok sa ganitong business,” Clarissa explained.

Dati po kasi siyang nagtatrabaho sa pawn shop and then nag-resign po siya so nawalan po siya ng source of income, which is struggle din po sa amin kasi isa po siya sa nagpoprovide po ng needs ng family namin.

At first, their uncle trained Clark, but would soon lend them money to start their own business.

And then naisip po ng tito ko na isama po siya sa mga treatments and i-train po siya. Then doon po nag-start, nagkaroon po ng interest ‘yung kuya ko, at kami pong family namin nagkaroon ng interest about doon so pinush na po namin,” she added.

They only had around 5 clients during their first month as they catered to sari-sari stores, a bakery, and some homes. Their parents drove them to the clients’ homes.

But it was actually Clarissa’s TikTok post that made the business boom when it went viral. They were able to reach new clients, including some big companies and clients as far away as Palawan.

We’re definitely impressed.

Business Tip: Take the Risk

Starting a business is really risky, but Clarissa recommends taking the risk instead of thinking that the venture might fail.
