Andi Eigenmann and her fiancé Philmar Alipayo have a new business venture in Siargao, a quaint club named Barbosa Siargao. Andi has revealed in a series of Instagram Stories that the couple has business partners who are both talented and eager to bring about change on their stunning island.
She wrote, “Stoked to be partnered up with this [group] of talented individuals who are all setting the bar high for the creative scene on the island and the rise of surf culture here in the Philippines.”
Having business partners in a new venture provides many benefits, especially if you’re a budding entrepreneur. Not only do you share the capital, but you also share the work, the risk, and the rewards of the business. For instance, Piolo Pascual and Kathryn Bernardo are business partners in a push resort in El Nido. When Kathryn is very busy with her showbiz obligations, Piolo can be more hands-on visiting the business as often as he can.
During Barbosa Siargao’s opening last March 8, Andi shared a selfie of her and Philmar, confirming their new business venture. “Date night with [Philmar] at the opening of our new venture, Barbosa Siargao,” she wrote.
Photos posted to Instagram show the trendy interior design of the bar, which includes details such as hanging vines, vinyl discs, cozy upholstered lounge seats, bare wood coffee tables, and black tiles, among other things.
Aside from Barbosa Siargao, the couple also owns a snack bar called Kanaway Snack Bar and Surf Shop. This bar is popular for its smoothie bowls, slushies, lattes, and more. Tourists can also learn to surf from qualified instructors. Among the highlights of their snack bar is that they use eco-friendly packaging. During the busy Holy Week, Andi was very hands-on as the “order taker” of their snack bar.
Like Andi, Glaiza De Castro and her husband, Irish businessman David Rainey, also decided to open a bed and breakfast and coffee shop in Baler, away from the big cities. Both celebrities chose locations that are popular surfing hotspots, which provides additional benefits.
For one thing, because of the warm weather and relaxed atmosphere, tourists and locals enjoy sipping refreshing drinks and snacks. Tourists also tend to spend more when they are on vacation, which is good for businesses located near tourist attractions. Even better, Siargao and Baler are already well-known around the world, which means more tourists and more business opportunities.
