While we often expect appliances, electronic gadgets, or cash as raffle prizes during Christmas parties, would you like to receive additional paid leaves? On Facebook, Ms. Nina shared that her best raffle prize was giving her employees an additional 5 days of paid vacation leave, which they can use in 2023.

She wrote in the captions, “This was my favorite raffle prize as inspired by Atty Gideon! Hahaha.”

In the comment section, many supported the idea saying it’s a creative way of also allowing their employees to value work-life balance. Many said that while receiving appliances is much appreciated, many don’t get to use them because they’re busy at work.

One commenter wrote, “This is the new normal na para sa companies who value and appreciate their employees. Best boss you’ll ever have guys!”

Another hoped more companies would encourage employees to take a time off from work to rest and recharge. After all, a well-rested employee is more productive than a stressed one.

Another netizen wrote, “Gusto ko yan. Mas appreciate ko ang paid VL kesa cash gift.”

Another commenter said it would have been so much better, like the icing on the cake, if the extra paid leave would be spent much earlier as this coming Christmas season spent with their families. However, having extra for next year would also allow them to properly plan ahead their leaves for special occasions.

Many netizens were also in disbelief that giving paid leaves as raffle prizes is possible. “Pwede pala yun?” a netizen asked.

“Ganito dapat ang pa raffle!! Kahit wala akong makuha na gadgets o money sa raffle, eto lang sapat na to spend time with fam. #SANALL PO,” another wrote.

Aside from the paid leave, Ms. Nina also shared their company loot bag giveaway for all their employees. She explained since their employees are mostly millennials, she shied away from the usual spaghetti and Hamon giveaways. Instead, it’s a huge bag of snacks, chocolates, and more.

If you’re a first-time entrepreneur, an important tip you should follow is to take care of your employees. Hiring and treating your employees well increases your business and efficiency. At the same time, your employee turnover won’t be too high. Plus, your employees will be loyal to you. A win-win situation for all!
