If you think being a working student is tough, try juggling being a young entrepreneur and you’ll realize how even more challenging it is. Yes, it may seem difficult, but John Lester Tolentino from Puerto Princesa, Palawan proved that it can be done!

Despite the hardship, John Lester shared that he was able to build his successful ukay-ukay business with his hardwork and perseverance. The former working student shared his inspiring success story on Chinkee Tan’s Facebook page. The post went viral as many admired John Lester’s success story.
According to John Lester’s post to Sir Chinkee, he started his selling ukay-ukay with a P500 capital.
Like any budding entrepreneur, John Lester admitted failing and going through several challenges. But what kept him going was his dream of giving his family a better future.
Now, John Lester is enjoying the fruits of his hard work. From being an ukay-ukay reseller, he is now a supplier of ‘bales’ to many other ukay-ukay business owners. He was also able to build his own ukay-ukay shop with a warehouse to keep his supplies. Even more, John Lester is now slowly reaching the dream he has for his family. He bought his family cars, lot and is building their dream house.

In the end, John Lester thanked Sir Chinkee for also guiding him in his business venture. If you’re interested in venturing into ukay-ukay business, it’s best to learn its pros and cons first. Then, like other successful entrepreneurs would advice, just work extra hard!
